An Interesting Life since 1828
From supporting the Flour mill and the distillery in the 1800s, to the long run as the home of Maitland Charts from the 1930s-1970s, this building has seen a lot !
Masonry Overhaul
Built in 1828, the Chart House has seen a lot of changes. Walls and windows come and gone as its use changed over the past 190 years. Adjacent buildings were built, doorways added, then those buildings got torn down and the walls were patched up. All practical fixes with a successful functional result. But visually the result was an UGLY patchwork.
For the first time since 1828, a true masonry restoration is underway.
